When mine broke, I could not find one at the parts store so I put a small alligator clip on it. Works great, looks bad.

I like that aligator clip idea. I'm using a spade connector right now.

ok...my vo tech teacher took pitty on me and gave me the connector like shown there....it went on....the connecter i had the jaws came too far in and that's why it wouldn't work. now.......how does the cab ground to the frame? my guage lights dont really work....and i have some weird activity in lights and such that says ground to me...i got the temp wire hooked up and the guage works....but it sits at one place and when you hit the high beams it moves...lol

You need at least one good ground strap between the cab and frame.
Some trucks used one between the cab and frame at the right front cab mount bracket underneath the truck. I always run a full size 1 guage ground strap from the engine block to the frame rail myself. Then another smaller strap from the frame to the cab. That stops any ground problem foolishness right there.

I keep a bunch of these type 56 connectors on hand all the time. When doing my install I discovered the female type 56 connector fits in the stock plastic holder on the end of the wire and fits over the temperature sender just like from the factory. The NAPA part numbers are 725145 and 725147. One of those part numbers is the male end the other is the female. I use WAY more of the female ends than the male ends. Because of those two part numbers I just make new wires for everything. Find each end of the wire, take it out, get a piece of the same color and gauge wire, and make a new one.
