Factory TH400 Kickdown switch
Does anybody have A picture of, or any info on the factory kickdown switch. Local transmission shot GURU said that he has A kickdown switch $20. and it would be mounted down by the gas pedal. Don't think I want the lokar $75-$95. THANKS

If you have a 70 with the rod throttle the switch should be mounted on the carb and activated by an "ear" attached to the carb shaft. The wires are pink and orange. Pink from the fuse panel inside through the firewall to the switch and orange from the switch to the transmission. PICKMUP had a complete set-up listed for sale with pics some time ago. Try the search.
I have the switch w/bracket for a 4bbl but no ear for sale or wires. The set up shown is for the 71/72 with cable throttle and can be made to work but is not correct if you have the rod.

Ok I'll post a pic of both styles. 71 72 on the pedal and earlier models on the carb manifold.

I've run both, and I gotta tell you. The lokar setup is worth the money hands down. No "blah blah blah" about it.

I wasn't knocking the LOKAR! I was just thinking that it is kind of pricey! However by the time I purchase everything to install the $20. switch I might not be to far from the LOKAR purchase price. Thank you very much for the replies everyone!!!!!!!! I greatly appreciate all the input!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
