Wheel stud size
I have a 73 dually with factory split rims. I'm trying to change to the nonsplit type. I have looked at lot of used rims that are suppose to fit my truck. They all have had a much large hole for the wheel studs. The stock ones fit tight around the studs. Any Idea. Do I have drill out the hubs and alxes for larger studs.

It's my understanding that all 71 and newer duallys have 9/16 studs.
Mine does. I'm also switching away from split rims myself, and my local pull-off wheels place is selling me a set of new dually take-offs for the truck. He says he sells a lot of them to replace split rims on these old trucks.

I found a web site that sells replacement lug nuts. They list my 73 as 9/16". Which is the size on my truck. But all rims that I find are 5/8".
Let me know how the take-offs work. thanks Louis Last edited by Ltd4wheel; 03-11-2005 at 07:34 PM. |
