Question Racecar style tie rod

I have a 70 gmc c25, I plan on lowering this truck with 73-87 drop spindles. I know you have to switch the tie rod ends, I was thinking to go with new racecar style tie rods with hiem joints. Has any one done this? What size bolt come on the 73-87 tie rod ends? Is every thing the same (tie rods) on a 70gmc 3/4 ton as 73-87 3/4 ton besides the end that attach to the spindle?

Thanks.

Heims ends aren't tolerant of grit and grime. The ball is exposed to all the elements under the truck rather than encased inside the unit like a normal tie rod end. If you don't encase it somehow, the heim won't live very long on the street.
