newbie!
Hello everybody! I wanted to add my pic to the board and share my enthusiasim with you. I bought this truck in march and haven't done much. The truck is a '69 c-10 lwb stepside it came with no motor in the bay but three in the bed. There is a 305 and 350 2-bolt main. The 305 is complete and the 350 needs rebuilt do you think the 350 will be good enough for a daily driver? I am currently adding power brakes and replacing all the lines with stainless steal lines. also would like to add power steering from what year would be good for the swap? I am still undecided what the finished truck will be mostly for street or strip. I would also like to see some other lwb stepsides that are done thanks for any help i might recieve.

Welcome to the forum.
Not many people do much with long/steps...too many thing they look funny. Slap the 305 in it so you can start enjoying it, then do up the 350 like you want it so you can have some real fun next summer. |

If you're looking to see a finished longstep, good luck! There aren't too many of those around, there are a couple on here though. Welcome from Virginia!! Nice truck!

Welcome from OK, that's a good lookin' find. I've got a long step also, and there's a few others on the board that have 'em. Mine's a recovering farm truck, so it's got a long way to go to get to where yours is. I agree with Longhorn on this one, slap in the 305 and build the 350 to what you want. They are a lot more fun to work on when you get to play in 'em as much as you play on 'em.

Its nice to see someone doing all the brake work first. Most guys build a bad @ss motor , drive it , then say "Damn this truck is hard to stop from 120mph!!!" Then do the brakes as an after thought.

And a big welcome from Arkansas - I come up your way occasionally for a ball game or just to get away. Went up in the arch for the first time about 1 1/2 years ago.

WOW!!!! Thanks alot for the big welcome guys I really appreciate it. I guess i'll stick with the 305 for now it seems like the best way to go. So next summer i will have a bigger engine to enjoy hehehehehe. One question on the power steering what do I need from a donor truck to covert it? But hey thanks for the welcome again and here's a toast for the many more posts...of the future.

get the steering box off a 68-80 (can go up to 87 but they have metrico ring fittings not the old SAE flare fittings) than get the pump that will work with whatever bracketry setup yu plan on using, (for long or short water pump)
