stock C-10 height?
Anyone with a bone stock C-10 SWB, next time you're out in the garage, can you take your tape measure with you? I am looking for the measurements from the BOTTOM LIP OF THE WHEEL to the top of the fender opening, front and rear. I prefer to measure from the bottom of the wheel lip rather than the floor since tire pressure and even minute differences in tire size affect absolute height. Oh, and you should have 15" wheels... but if not, please just let me know what size they are.

Kenneth, are you trying to figure out how low you (we) are??? How about measuring form the center of the wheel hub to the top of the fender opening? Then you can get a true suspension height, regardless the wheel/tire size. Then you could add on a 15" wheel radius and stock tire sidewall height. Just an idea. Let me know what you find out.
Oh wait! DREW67 has a stock height C-10 and he only lives a few blocks from me. I might be over at his place this weekend and if I remember, I'll get a measurement! Jay

Yeah... somebody asked me the other day how low the truck was at ride height (and then the question came up in a recent thread here), but I don't really know for sure.
And measuring from the spindle works too... just so long as the reference point is not dependent on variable components, like tire size, inflation, etc. The only reason I prefer the wheel lip is that you don't have to guess where it is... you just grab the lip of the wheel with the tape. But either way works great. Thanks, Kenneth

Anyone out there with a stock height C-10 out there? If so, next time you're headed outside, can you measure how tall it is from the wheel opening lip to the center of your wheel??? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Kenneth

Well, here's my first clue to answer the question above...
The GM restoration kit I just received says the tailgate, when laid open is 27 1/4" from the ground. That should give a decent reference point for the rear. Kenneth

stock height
Hey XXL I just went to measure my truck's height and I came up with 19 inches all the way around, that's measured from the center of the hub to the top of the fender opening, I believe my truck is pretty much stock ( no modifications that I know of ) and I'm running 15 in. rallys. Hope this helps a little!!

Bout same for mine. 15" ralleys...hair over 19 at the front and about 22.5 rear...mine is a 70 short step

LMC cataloge has it at 32 to the top of the front marker lite and 34 on the rear
