Cab Mounts Question

I can't remember so please help an ol' boy here. Are C-10 cab mounts different from C-20 & 30's? I kinda remember this being said. Heres the dilemma. I have a set of Energy Suspension cab mounts (#3.4108G) that is for C10's The number for c-20's and 30's is different. Can these I have right now be used on a 3/4 ton cab?

Yup they are different. IIRC the rubber that the cab sits on is the same but the rubber under the mount is bigger, I could be wrong on this though, it has been a few years since I replaced mine. You can buy the rubbers at your local GM dealer.

If memory is working, the 3/4 ton 2wd's, & the 4wd trucks had a taller cushion at the rear of the cab......swap the rear frame brackets, & you should be able to use the 1/2ton pcs for mounts(someone chime in if im off on this).....69L

yes the 1/2 and the 3/4 ton are different. the 3/4 ton rear mounts rubber bushings are about 2 inches taller. this is because the 3/4 ton frame rear cab mount brackets are lower on the frame. the front are the same.

Yes, the rubber on the bottom side of the bracket is taller on the 3/4 ton , & the 4wd trucks. It has to do with where the steel bracket is riveted to the frame......you can swap brackets/mounts, as long as you understand that 1/2 ton is different than 3/4 ton(rear brackets & cushions), & dont mix the pcs best of luck, L

A think there might be some confusion here. I have a 1/2 and 3/4 ton frame sitting side by side to compare. The only difference on the frame is the hight of the rear mount bracket that is riveted to the frame. On he 1/2 ton it is even with the top of the frame rail and on the 3/4 ton it sits about 2 inchec below the frame rail. This would require the taller rubber bushing to be on top of the frame mount bracket. Between the cab and the frame mount bracket.

I discovered this when changing my damaged 1/2 ton frame with a good 3/4 ton frame. I wasn't thinking and ordered a set of 1/2 ton bushings and in the excitement installed them and noticed that the back of the cab was sitting on the frame. so instead of reordering the bushings i just made a spacer and placed it on top of the 1/2 ton bushing to raise the cab up into correct position.

yes you can swap the mount brackets. as per the service manual "if the rivets are loose drill them out and enlage the hole to the next size bolt". The next size over the rivets is a 7/16th bolt, because the rivets are slightly larger than a 3/8th. I have moved several brackets like swaybar, radiator mount and track bar with out any problems. I just used a 7/16 grade 8 bolt to replace the rivet.
