Power steering box question.

I've searched the site over but never found the info I'm looking for. Will "73 and up power steering box fit a '71?

71-87 1/2 ton 2WD powersteering boxes are all the same, except in the 80s where the conections switched to metric. but those can be changed out. so to answer your question if both boxes are 1/2 ton 2wd YES

Yes, the 73 up boxes fit. Somewhere in the early 80's, they went to a metric box. These boxes will work also, i have an 84 Burb box on my longhorn , & love the feel (variable ratio). the fittings are different for the hoses, & you will need the pitman to go with the metric box tho..... 69L

Thanks guys. I have a box and pump out of an '80 model that I had laying around for 5 years. I haven't decided to rebuild those or rip out another set from a local yard. Thanks again for the info guys.

Well I'd pick up the pump, box and lines. Converting from manual steering.
