Fixing on my top ..

Started fixing up my top today. Repaired a broken edge near the windshield and filled in some rough areas. Should be able to paint it this week. What have you guys used to paint these tops? Automobile paint or does and sort of spray paint look ok?

Wish I took some before pictures because it turned out pretty well for my first try

Looks like you did a good job. What did you use to fix it?

I think any automotive paint will work, but that is just a guess.

Nice!! I should do mine, cracks and paint. I look at it setting on saw horses where it has been for at least three years. I think I would have more motivation if I lived in a colder climate. No top or rag top.

I just painted mine with a roller and latex enamel

I repainted mine with a marine semi gloss enamel. Its meant for painting fiberglass boat hulls and decks, and for withstanding harsh environments. It cost a little more, but worth it in my opinion.

Just a fiberglass repair kit I picked up at Napa. Had the cloth inside that you cut into strips and the fiberglass and hardner. I just followed instructions and then sanded... Thought it would at least take me 2 attempts but I'm happy with how it turned out

I have a nice sprayer and compressor. My dad and I painted his truck with it. I was going to just put a coat of primer and then use automobile paint. I'm going to go by and see what the marine fiberglass stuff runs and then make a decision. Thanks guys

I'd guess that standard automotive paint should would because there are so many Blazers with tops that are painted to match the body.

I would put a thin coat of polyputty over that just to fill in some small pinholes that you probably have that you can not see to the naked eye and it will cover alot faster with the primer. Just my .02 cents

I have just been useing over the counter fiberglass repair kits to repair my top and hatch have been thinking about some type of white spray on liner(maybe rihno liner)
