Yellow trucks?

I'm really having a hard time deciding what color I want to paint my '79. I'm leaning towards yellow. Anybody have any pics of yellow trucks of this body style? I can't find any...

Not yet, still in the reassembly phase. Should be in one piece by fall...with the complete paint job finished by next spring (as time and money allow...no charging up the CC on the project!)

Yeah...I think I'm gonna have to go with yellow. What do you guys think about a two tone paint job with black in the middle?

Unless you want to look like a bumblebee...I say NO.

Yellow and white would look good.

I 'spose you could paint it yellow with the black stripe around the tail end like the Dodge boys are doing. That retro Super Bee stripe thing they've got goin on.

I like Jonboy's truck. Smoooooooth yellow. And are those vintage ET aluminum slots I see on there? One of my first sets of custom wheels were the ET slots. Great lookin wheels.

Thanks, Boog. Those are actually American wheels, that were originally the high polished version. American is actually repopping the slot wheels. I am really thinking about a set for my Blazer. I was only three when those wheels were put on that truck back in 1977. (It's a 73)

The only downside of painting a truck yellow is the cost. Since the chromium is not allowed in paint anymore, the yellow is very translucent and expensive. Since it is translucent, it takes more to cover. I had about $800 just in materials, and I work in a body shop. I really dug teh way it turned out. It is much better than the original grass green inside and out.
