Engine and tranny?

How hard is it to convert a 3sp from the column to the floor?

My old 250 smokes real bad all the time, but pulls strong and quiet. I've heard a ring job will work. What do you think.

If you have the right shifter, converting to a floor shift is pretty easy.

On your engine, have you thought about replacing the valve seals first?

If the engine runs good and strong it might just need valve seals to stop the smoking.
