Installing a 4" Suspension lift

I'm installing a 4" superlift suspension kit along with some 33's this weekend. I've never installed a lift before but it looks pretty straight forward. My trucks an '84 K10. Any tips before I get started? Thanks

Spray all bolts with rust buster,wd,liquid wrench, etc.An impact and or a torch,or a grinder will come in handy to remove the ubolts.You should have new ones anyhow.

all i can say is good luck with that steering arm....those three "dowl thingy's" are a real pain in the azz

Start doing this now. Do it twice a day until you start pulling it apart this weekend.

chevy4x4girl, i know this is a little of the subject, but did you get softride springs? if so how many springs are in your front leaf pac? and will you let me know how your truck rides after the install? thanks.

I dont know if Im just slow but it took me 6 hours to install rear blocks! Im about to tackle the front and cant say Im looking forward to it. But the results should be worth it.
The only thing I would stress is to have more than one jack, I used three to support the axel. and to have a couple of cut off wheels for your grinder. And if possible have someone else helping. Im sure your can hold your own when wrenching but Im 6'5" and 290# and had a hell of a time with some of the bolts. I ended up useing a 1/2" breaker bar and a 4' cheater bar.

Well I have the front end done It took me a long time to get the new springs back in the shackles. This one just would not go in (theres always one). Actually the steering arm wasnt that bad. I just had to beat on it for a while. My truck has very little rust so I havent had to use any kind of penetrating fluid. I just used my impact wrench and rachet. Although the kit didnt say to do it, the springs went in a lot easier when I disconnected the brake lines and droped out the differential. Next weekend I move on to the rear end. I'll post pics of my truck when its done.
