Post your VIN, some one will have the decoder. if you fear the internet fake title thing, then leave off the last few digits.

C= Convential
E= V-8 1= 1/2 ton 34= Fleetside pickup S= Assembly Plant--St. Louis Z= Model Year. 70 At least thats what I read once somewhere about how GMC truck vins differ from Chevy Vins. Still trying to find where I read that. Don't know if its right. Mine is CE 234-FZ Edit (added) Might add that if someone has a build sheet it might help also. I have one somewhere for a 69 GMC I once had but I cannot seem to find it right now.

tomatocity = CE134SZ
C = 2wd ; E = V-8 Gas; 1 = 1/2 ton (3900 - 5800 ?) ; 34 = Fleetside; S = St. Louis; Z = 1970 70 blowngmc = CS104ZZ C = 2wd; S = I-6 Gas; 1 = 1/2 ton; 04 = Stepside; Z = Fremont; Z = 1970 Mine is CE134SZ. If you try looking in book stores that sell old books you might get lucky and find some usefull books like I did. The one yellow book "Catalog of Chevy Truck ID Numbers 1946 - 1972" which you can still get in book stores for like $20, I found in an old book store for $7. And lots of other books like Mechanical manuals and Transmission manuals also. Do either of you know your engines numbers on the front passenger side in front of the head?
