Bumber mount
Since I finally have my truck running again and its ready to rock I'm trying to get a few loose ends tied up. One of those is my front bumber. I think I was given the wrong mounts for my bumber. The only one that fits is the center bottom two that mount directly to the frame. The top 2 and far left and right mounts are to long. My far left and right bumber mounts from hole to hole are around 22 in. and what I need them to be hole to hole is about 19-20 in.. Also the mounts for the top center are to long as well they need to be hole to hole about 2 3/4-3 in. and the ones I have are 4-4 1/2. Did bumber mounts vary from year to year or for the different models, such as c/10 c/20?
I've checked my local junkyards and not only is there very few gmc and chevy trucks but the ones they have are totally stripped. Is there some place that sells these?...also what can I expect to pay? Oh heres pic of the ones I have now. Thanks, Kevin

I think there are only two center bumper brackets which mount on top of the frame and the bottom holes of the bumper bolt directly to the front of the frame.

No I've seen a couple other peoples bumbers and they all had the two far left and right bumber mounts. The bracket in the top of my pic is the one for the top center of the bumper and it mounts on the top of the frame. Then the two far ones mount to the bumber and then go diagonally back towards and mount to the side of the frame.

I'm sorry, I misread your post. I thought you said you had 4 center brackets. On my GMC the longest length (edge to edge) of the outer bracket is 20-1/2. The longest length of my 72 Chevy bracket is 22-1/2. The outer brackets you pictured don't look like either of my brackets but I am also questioning if my GMC brackets are correct.

Oh ok. And yeah I have two center brackets but as you can see from the pic one is missing. The bottom center mounts directly to the frame like you said.
Basically my problem is all my brackets are too long.

I am not sure what the brackets are that you have pictured. The 71-72 C-10, C-20 brackets are approximately 22" as measured at the holes. The 71-72 K-10, K-20 are 19" as measured from hole to hole, (see pic).
The 4 wd GMC's and the 67-70 K-10's, K-20's had brackets that were 17" as measured from hole to hole. The small brackets for the 71-72 C-10, k-10, C-20, K-20 are shorter than your small brackets, (3 7/8" long, overall). I have to believe that if you post a WTD for your GMC, that you can get a set that will fit nicely. Hopefully someone can identify the brackets you have but they don't look familiar to me. Jim |

Thanks alot that was very helpful. The pic of your bracket is exactly what I need...at least it looks that way. See the hard part is I'm not exactly sure what frame my truck is because as my sig says the VIN says its a C15 but its not because its a 3/4 frame.
