1970 Grille repair & polish
Are the aluminum grilles on a 1970 thick enough to remove small dents, smooth the scrapes, and finish by polishing? With older Chevy's you could repair and polish the mouldings but I think they are stainless steel.

I refinished my moldings. The old outer grill had dings. They were in such areas that is was impossible to get behind them.

This has me courious for future projects. I saw a mini anvil/hammers set on Eastood I think. Supposedly just for trim. I think it could be done but you would have to be GOOD. Polishing out the hammer marks would be a biatch. Easy to burn through.

Take Your time and use the hammer VERY gentle. You do not want to take any dings out with one shot.I dont have any before pics, but I just removed some dings and the anodized coating from a 72 surround.
