Door hinge adjustments?
I am needing to adjust the upper door hinge on the drivers side of my 69, need to move it back towards the rear. Any way to slide the hinge back without pulling the fender? I do have the cowl off, and was wondering if I pull the two bolts for the fender (at back, top, that are usually under the cowl) can you pull the top of the fender out enough to get at the hinge bolts???
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! Squid

I don't believe that you can pull the fender out far enough to do you much good. I use a 1/4" ratchet with a 9/16" socket and a 9/16" open end, boxed in wrench along with a door hinge wrench.
It takes a little maneuvering but using one of the three wrenches listed will work. Here is a pic of the door hinge wrench. Jim |

Squid, you better have deep pockets if you buy a Snap-on. My brother in law has a couple of those that came from Snap-on about 35 yrs. ago and they were expensive then. They sure are handy.

Re: Door hinge adjustments?
Looks like the S O logo, almost can make out the part #, it will be spendy. When I did mine I removed the fenders completely, left the inners in place.

Re: Door hinge adjustments?
Get a set of S wrenches from Harbor Freak or sacrifice a 9/16 from the tool box and heat and bend it . You can grab a set of them offset ones from HF and heat and bend them

Re: Door hinge adjustments?
I have one of these I used for my doors. Called a half moon or obstruction wrench. They are not hard to find. Or if you have a long reach wrench and a torch they are easy to make. I have even made a custom version with a cut off ratcheting box end and a piece of pipe to it welded to it.

Re: Door hinge adjustments?
You don't need anything special and you don't need to remove fender, it sucks but I have done it a few times and yes it brings the suck.
