Introductions...

Hi,
I just picked up a 68 C20. It's real promissing, but I think I'll be asking many a question here. lol

She has a good heart...

But she has issues also.. :p

Isn't there supposed to be a channel there? Does anyone have a picture of what it is supposed to look like? I could use a template. lol

Looks like you have a good truck to start with. What're your plans for it?

Wow.. thanks

I'm thinking "restification" here. I need to fix the floor in the cab, figure out how to get my stereo in there.. fix the seat, carpet the whole mess and refinish all the interior metal.

After that it's just body work, a little tweak to the power plant (just headers and a better carb and ignition) and some nice paint.

She's got a modern 350 glued to the original 4sp and a 12 bolt rear. I need to rub all the numbers and decode everything to figure out what secrets she holds.

My intention is a nice weekend driver, mildly built, to enjoy and to haul the dirt bike out to the dirt with the kids.

Hello to you both! .. I'm in the "Eastern Panhandle" .. Just below the Hagerstown bottle neck in Maryland.

If you have herd of Harpers Ferry you are close.. if you've heard of Martinsburg you've found me... lol

Guess I need to wade through the FAQs.. I am going to, among other things, have to learn to use a wire feed welder.

I started a blog .. I'm going to see if I can document the whole restoration process. Since I am a fairly experianced mechanic but a relative newb to body work... it should be interesting, to say the least.

Anyone know a good place to get sheet metal stock? I need to fabricate some stuff.

Thanks in advance...
ciao

I've driven through Martinsburg many times on my way from VA, to out west on I70. Welcome from outside Richmond. Don't be afraid to ask, we've all been there and done that to almost anything you can come up with.
