Heater Hose Questions

We recently bought a new radiator, it doesent have the heater hose outlet like our old one did. We are wanting to put it in the water pump but dont know which one to put it in we have a top and side outlet, which is the best one?? thanks

Top and side outlet sounds like a shorty waterpump, in which case it doesnt make a huge difference really. These were designed in according to use. sometimes there is no access to the side or visa versa.
To me, the side is best if you have access to it. It makes for a cleaner install.

Going in order of flow:
Hose goes from the intake nipple (To the left of the thermostat housing) to the lower pipe of the heater core, upper pipe of the heater core to the nipple on the top of the waterpump.
