WTB/WTT for a big block.

I'm looking for a Big Block. It can be in short block form. I would like it to be a 396/402 but a 409 or 427 (in my dreams) would also work. Worst case senario would be a 454. The block and crank need to be good enough to go to the machine shop to get redone. I am willing to pay cash for one, but it someone is looking for alot of small block stuff I can help there too. I have 2 350 2-bolts with heads unknown condition. I have a running 305. Also I am getting a running 350 4-bolt main. I also have a torquer intake and a Holley 600 cfm carb. I also have alot of the SBC brackets for power steering and alternator. Also I have pulley sets. Let me know what you have and what your looking for and I may be able to come up with it. Thanks!

I have a 396 with rebuilt 427 heads here in Washington. The motor has about 30,000 miles on it since rebuid, and is bore 30 over with high dome pistons. Shipping would be expencive though. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

I have a stock 454 with less than 3500 miles on it. THe block has "high performance passenger" stamped on the back. I dont know if that makes a difference but it sounds good lol. I am asking 1000 for it. I was gonna use it to put in the dually I was gonna built but I got a great deal on a 79 cc dualy with only 69,000 miles and it allready had a 454.

I was kinda looking for something that shipping wouldn't kill me on. Maybe someone going to Carlisle or something. Right now the closest one I found is in Atlanta, GA. I'll keep you all in mind if something happens.

I have a 1971 Chevelle 402 needing a rebuild. 2 bolt main---Hi Perf--Pass. It is a Feb build with matching block and heads. It shows .010 pistons which was probably a clean up re-bore. The crank looks fine as does the block and heads. I also am throwing in an original big block intake and exhaust headers. It is missing the cam & lifters. I will be selling at the Springfield Ohio swap meet Sept 9th and 10th. $450. Huck

Can I ask what a Feb build is? I am interested. You will have to excuse me I'm pretty dumb when it comes to these Identifiers. The "Hi Perf" means it is a Hi performance build or casting? The "Pass" I haven't a clue. Is this engine runable once lifters and cam are added or does it need overhauled? Do you have casting Numbers? Do you have any pictures? Does it have the harmonic balancer and Flex plate? What kind of intake comes with it? Will the headers work in 67-72 chevy trucks?

71 Longbed: Where in Ohio are you? If you are close enough I might come up and take a look!

JDL: sent a couple of PM's but you have not responded. Are they still for sale? I'm very interested.

I was looking into a 396 in Atlanta for $200 but after the guy started to look at it he found out it had rust holes in the cylinder walls you could stick fingers through. Good thing he was a fair enough guy to look into this stuff before actually selling.

TireSmoke420: Give me a chance to get the casting numbers so I can decide which I want first! I need a good base for an expensive machining job. The cheaper the base the more I can spend on the ground up build.
