step bumper capacity
im curious what the tow rating class would be on one of those heavy duty step bumpers with the ball mounted directly to it. i would like to have an under bed spare tire mount but doesnt that get in the way of mounting a class three hitch assembly?

You can still mount a class 3 or class 5 hitch using that bumper that you picked up here. The new hitches bolt directly under the frame and do not get in the way of the under bed spare tire mounts. The Garden truck has a class 5 hitch and an under bed spare tire. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

I'd also like to know the weight limit on the bumper alone, no hitch underneath. Small trailer? Car trailer with a little weight on it? Car trailer with small car, evenly on the tamdems??? Any ideas???

It depends on which bumper you buy. The one I have on my truck says 800lb tongue, 8000lb trailer capacity. But most i've seen are listed as 500/5000.

I used to pull a 9600lb boat with my stock bumper.
