Its just too hot!
Its just gotten too hot so im gonna hook up my ac. I have an orig. condenser and a compressor pump from a newer motor. I dont have any off the hoses or the dryer. I do think ill have to get the hose fittings changed to fit the new compressor but what else will i need to get to make it work? And is any body selling these things ill need? Also i have no fan shroud in my truck and i know thats why my engine tetters on the hot side but w/ the ac i would like to run electric fans. does anybody know of other vehicles i could pull them out of and put in my truck w/o much trouble?

The hoses are the easy part... Find local Auto AC supplier (not repair shop) Or Auto parts store and have them get the correct manifold for the compressor end and just custom make you a set of hoses. Shouldnt cost more than 100.00 for the fittings/labor and all.
While your there you might concider updating the POA valve to a orfice tube design. It's alot cleaner looking and better performance with a smaller (R-4)compressor. Spend the $$$ and have R-12 put back in. 134A is just not effecient enough for these old trucks(no max air) I think its WES at classic heartbeat that sells the dual fan w/shroud. I wouldnt use anything less than 2 fans.. or find a shroud for yours. Airflow across the condensor is critical! |

i know somebody on here pulled a dual fan setup out of a car? Also what is the POA valve, cuz really i dotn know what parts im missing. I have the condensor,evaporator,and compressor, and nothing in between.

Here's the POA valve. It connects to the evaporator outlet line, compressor inlet line and also has a evaporator oil recirculation line.
You've got a HR6 compressor. Its not a bad little compressor, seems to have a good success rate and works well on larger cooling area's. |

yeah that compressor has been through an engine fire, rigth now its on to complete the serpentine system, but i will be replaceing it.
