Post bouncing tach

This morning when I started my truck, the factory tach was bouncing around, it couldnt stay still. I never had this problem before. It remained bouncing for about 15 minutes then slowly regained control. Is this a warning my tach is going out??

Thank you.

That, or a bad connection somewhere. Maybe you have a bad ground somewhere. The next time it does it, try listening to the radio on AM tuned somewhere between stations. If you have noise that follows your tach bouncing, I'd suspect a bad connection.
