Need a GM part # identified - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have a NOS front windshield gasket and I was wanting to know if someone could tell me what year it is? I believe 67-70 used deeper chrome than 71-72. The number is hard to read, but I think this is right # 3940756. I want to use this on my 68.

The part number you listed (group for rear window gasket 16.470) 3940756, is listed for 67-69 as a back window gasket with stainless trim. It's still available from GM for around $50.00.. I looked in my Chevy parts master and here's what I found.. (Group for windshield gasket is 16.040)
3698174= Standard gasket without trim 67-72 Chevy Truck
3940754= Custom gasket for stainless trim 67-70 Chevy Truck..Still available from GM...$68.90
3985042= Custom gasket for stainless trim 71-72 Chevy Truck

BTW....in 1972, the gasket was only $5.50 from your local Chevy dealer...Inflation really sucks.

Thanks for the info. I thought it was a front gasket, not a rear. It is all wrapped up and I never opened it. It sure is a rear gasket. Thanks again.
