Truck's in gear but won't go
Hey guys tried to pull the truck out of the garage today to spray down under the hood and it won't move. It starts and goes into gear(not easy), but won't go anywhere. It's like every gear is in Neutral.
The only thing I did that I could figure out might be the problem is that I collapsed the steering column and put it back into the dash a little farther. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the neutral safety switch or what? thanks, Bryan

if you repositioned the steering column(column shift) without addressing the transmission linkage you'll normally have shifting issues

If it started it's not the nsw. Jack up the rear end and support it and disconnect the
shift linkage from the column, and shift it by hand and see if it moves.

we had our tranny rebuilt (non chevy) and filled it with the standard 4 quarts. in reality it needed like 7 because there was no fluid left in the tranny from the rebuild. at first we were able to shift it, start the truck and all, but the truck wouldn't roll on its own power. we had the truck running and popped it in reverse, filled it up with a quart, 2 minutes later we put it in neutral and ran it for 2 minutes and added a quart, then drive... and eventually we had it filled with the right amount of fluid and it rolled on its own power.

Hopefully you're just low on fluid. Had to rebuild mine (THM 400) just prior to the meet in Pigeon Forge. It took almost 11 qts. BUT, that's with a deep aluminum pan on it.
