interesting find...
well i went back the the yard that od tranny is... picked up the disk brake front end for my 70 k10 resto and then came across a factory amfm/8 track/CB in a 79 jimmy... i hadnt seen one of these complete b4, so i scooped on the whole thing... still has the delco handset, and it also had a factory aux antenna and a mystery box mounted behind the glove box that ran in series with the cb antenna.. the truck also had (what looked to be) factory front speakers mounted in the kick panels (delco 4x6 with factory clip connectors and harness to the back of the radio)... i got everything harness, radio, speakers, antenna... i thought it was kinda neat...now i gotta see if it works ... ill take some pics if i get a chance.. next few days are pretty busy

Breaker, break good buddy! That's a cool retro item to have. If it works that would be even better. The mystery box is probably the components for the CB....

The mystery box could be a power booster of some kind for the CB or a noise filter if I had to guess. I used to have a similar unit but it had a cassette instead of the 8 track. Nice find!

I didn't know these came with a cassette. All the ones I ever saw was with an 8 track.

It wasn't a factory radio, it was an aftermarket unit.

To be honest, it is worth more being an 8track. If it was a cassette, it would have been after market. You can find all kinds of 8track tapes on e-bay. I have an 8track in my '70 and bought some nice 8track tapes there. Again, good find.
