Introduce myself

I guess i should introduce myself since i'm new around here...seems to be the normal thing to do.
I'm eric, have a love for chevy...passed on to me from my father and share by my brother who also has an 83 C-10, but his is a long box with a camper.
I'm going to try to get him to post here, he recently replaced his motor and tranny. Well here's a couple out with the 305 in with the 350 pics from my 83 SWB. If you can see, the top of my cab is caved in pretty good, contemplating a chop and installing a 12 pt cage with a soft top look.
I installed a 350 Tough One crate motor, swapped the cam for a mild lunati rev cam kit. Holly dual plane intake with a base 600CFM carb. I also recently swapped the tranny for a Raptor Jr. from Performance Auto & Transmission Center PATC
I also swapped the stock wheels and tires for some Black Soft 8 Style Cragars 15x8 front with 245/60's & 15x10 on the back with some 295/50's Cooper Cobra Radials.
Anyway that's enough about me, i'll post more pics as i progress.

Welcome to the forum koreric75. It looks like your moving along well with your motor install. If the rest of your truck is solid, a good bbody man could put a new roof skin on for you....

Here are some new pics, engine installed & replacement fender i scored @ pipe's auto pullit, $28. I also found a clean not torn cloth bench seat on an 84 i'm going back for. The 700Raptor has been great so far, i haven't ran the truck yet, but on street tires my buddy behind me...quite a ways behind btw...lol, said he saw the bed flex quite a bit when i hit 2nd & 3d. It's a strong tranny, but expensive...i didn't install it myself, limited space and tools led me to let the guys at PATC install it. I also included a pic of the Black Soft 8 wheels, plain, but will match the overall theme of the truck once finished, have to work on the stance down the line.

84slopwagon, i got the toughone crate engine through Advanced Autoparts, 4bolt main, it has stock heads and is actually around a 355ci as it's a reman block. I pulled the cam and lifters and installed a Lunati cam kit 458 gross lift, it runs nice sounds good, cuts up a little when you first start it up but smooths out and idles nicely...sounds good through the dynomax headers with true duals and 40 series flowmasters. I estimate around 340-350 HP as it sits now. I'm looking to up that with a Holley systemax II set, claiming 425 HP with 0 deck and i think around 9.5/1. I got a pretty good deal on the motor since at the time Advanced was still giving 10% military discount on engines. Otherwise i might have went for a different setup from Summit.
