body mount help plez
hey all i am wonder what body mounts to order for my truck, i have a 1980 3/4 ton 4x4 frame, and i'm putting an 1984 cab on it thats off a 2wd truck i cut out the floor, and welded on nuts to place the higher hump from the 4x4 to, just getting ready to set the cab in place and wondering what year i need to order the mounts for the 4x4s were taller than the 2wd but yet the mounts on the frame to be in the same spots and higths, can anyone help me with what to do thanks everyone.

Have you called some truck parts stores such as LMC to see if they would know?

You have to get mounts specific to the frame year not the body, so you need 1980 body mounts for a 4x4. LMC won't have a clue about this if you call them.
The cabs are the same along with the mounting locations for 4x4 vs 4x2. The only big diff is the height of the trans tunnel.

cab mounts,,
va3jco,,,hello,,,just happen's to be a good day for me to be on,,lol...the reason is i learned the hard way about this swap and from my "SCREWUP"S" ,,the old school of hard knock's....anyhow i have been talking to someone else today on here about the exact same thing and maybe my mistakes might help...check out the post "79 scottsdale cab" by "FARMALL"...it will help u a bunch i think because if all you cut out was the trans hump that was bolted in then you have more to do (that was my BIG mistake) at least it was on a 78 cab.and as far as body mount's you have to buy mount's for the "frame year" ,not cab year unless you might be using a lift kit which i know "nothing" about..lol..i wasted 2 week's by my mess up on the transfer case hump and hope this help's a little...
