Has any one ordered parts from gmpartsdirect.com?

The do not list a phone number and that bothers me a little, I am considering buying some parts from them and would like to hear if anyone has ordered from them?

thanks

I have talked to them! They offer dust sheilds for rear sport bumpers,
they claim they have them for 72's, but it is really just 67-71's, can't
remember where I got the number from, it's not listed from what I see

Re: gmparts direct dot com? any body ordered from them?

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

It's so funny you mention it. I just had the WORST experience with these jackholes. First it took almost 3 days to get a part number - the part number showed in their linked catalog lookup tool, but it wouldn't add to their cart correctly so I had to email customer service for a request that woulda took 5 minutes to lookup at most for them (their catalog is obviously outdated). So, get the part number and 5 days later I finally got to try to order (the customer svc department is a joke).

So, I order the parts. Takes almost 3 weeks to get them (oil pan and hydraulic clutch pedal assembly).

Box arrives via DHL - it arrives with no signature required, so the DHL guy leaves it on my step. The box comes in and it's so poorly packed that the oil pan is hanging halfway out, has a ding in the side of it, three bolts are missing.

So, now what am I left to do? Email customer support - because there is no phone number to call them with. Now I get to wait 48-72 hours to get a response because "email volume is heavy right now" because THEY did a ****ty ass packing job.

What a joke. Granted - I saved almost 33% off what I woulda paid at the dealership, but it was NOT worth it at this point. They are quite possibly the WORST company I have EVER dealt with online and I do most of my shopping online.

I am so completely pissed right now. Now I gotta wait even longer to get my engine in because of those bumbling cornholes.

Go order from www.gmotors.com. Those guys are great and timely as all hell.

Re: gmparts direct dot com? any body ordered from them?

You probably dealt with Bill from gmotors.com. There are two Bills there, both are a breeze to work with.

I setup and coded several parts of that website. Those guys are based out of Gainesville, FL and are damned near the best deal on the internet. They post all of their phone numbers out front so you can call the dealership and contact them. Their catalogs are always up to date and they'll get you the part numbers you need in a heartbeat. They are totally cool and friendly and the web submission system is easy for anyone to use.

gmotors.com has a great bunch of people. GMPartsDirect can suck my balls. I hate those idiots. After this poor purchase, I will NOT shop through GMPartsDirect again.

I'll throw another in there, VanDevere Oldsmobile in Akron OH is great. Look up the website vandevere.com I think and go to parts link. Dal Slabaugh is the guy and he has an 800 number. these guys sell GM parts CHEAP and fast, you pay shipping, but for 3-5% above cost you can afford it.

Here is the direct parts link, it helps if you have a part number when you call, because he is busy. Good luck, I have always had a good experience.

Re: gmparts direct dot com? any body ordered from them?

I had a bad experience with them also, 4x4 fan shroud was incorrect and it took about 2 weeks to resolve. I ended up paying for the ride back because they sent the pick up (DHL) in the middle of the day during the work week, with no prior notice except that they stopped by and that was your free ride. Man, was I PO'd. I never got a hold of the website department but FLOW Chevrolet is the dealership. They played real stupid and after about 10 email exchanges, the correct part showed up. Never again with them.

They are a part of Flow Motors out of Winston-Salem, NC. They have Chevy, Honda, Acura, etc, etc. I threw away my Winston NC phone book, otherwise, I'd offer to look up their phone number. They also have a Classic Car parts division called Muscle Cars or something like that.

i bought a fuel pump for my 99 astro van from them last year. it was quite a bit cheaper than the dealer. the shipping was a little outrageous though. 59 bucks.
but over all i still save money.

Re: gmparts direct dot com? any body ordered from them?

I ordered a little over a thousand dollars worth of parts from them for my corvette and no problem. I still paid less with shipping than I could at my own Dealership with my "employee pricing" which is cost plus 10%. Go figure. Sorry, I had a good experience with them.

Re: gmparts direct dot com? any body ordered from them?

I have only ordered from them one time. A waterpump for my '96 Tahoe. The price PLUS SHIPPING was about 50% of what my local Chevrolet Dealer wanted. Pump arrived in perfect shape. No problems. I will probably order from them again. I did not ask them to research the GM part#. I ordered on-line and the pump was at my home within a week. I haven't heard of these other places, though. So, I will probably give them a try, too.

I ordered 63/64 vette manifolds for my 70 GMC, no problems. This was about 4 years ago.

Re: gmparts direct dot com? any body ordered from them?

I have purchased from GMpartsdirect.com before. Their prices and service were good. Their shipping fee calculation was a joke, it was a % of the purchase price of whatever you bought - WTF.

Unless that has changed, avoid them. I prefer P&G at www.partszoneonline.com

Using these online dealers works well for otherwise expensive items (don't forget if you live in a different state, you skip taxes), but for smaller items like emblems, etc, it is often cheaper to go to your local dealer.

Re: gmparts direct dot com? any body ordered from them?

You guys and gals need to see if you have a delco warehouse nearby! I buy lots of stuff from these guys and its way cheaper than the dealer (actually supposed to be what they pay) They don't have everything the dealer has but they do have starters/alt/brakes/water pumps/injection stuff/electrical! I bought original pads for my 01 1/2 ton 4wd the other day for $83.00 they listed for $153.00! I buy wholesale but even off the street prices are way better than the dealer!

Re: gmparts direct dot com? any body ordered from them?

Packaging was a little skimpy and I thought they would be AC delco parts
but that could be my fault, but the site doesn't say to much.
And I ordered parts for a short box and got long box parts.
So I'll go elesewhere next time.
