Center cap question

I have what I think are truck rallys looking for some way to spice them up a little, more shine little more stand out. Wondering what center caps or hub covers I can use or other ways to make them not so plain jane.

Re: Center cap question

Some guys use little convex spot mirrors on the center caps. They are adhesive backed and fit the center indention of the cap perfectly. It looks like a tiny baby moon in the middle.

Re: Center cap question

fThis is what TX was talking about. I had these on my 70. I like the look even bettter than stock. You can also swap out and use late model centercaps/lugs, which I don't have a picture of.

Re: Center cap question

You can also change the decal on the center cap to a custom style. I have seen the decals at most of the local swap meets.

Re: Center cap question

where did you get those little mirror things and how did they attach? Not sure if I like or not but neat. Was look more for something to cover the whole center lug part and not use the stock caps at all.

Re: Center cap question

I got mine at Walmart....about a $1 eac. they have self stick tape on the back. Buy 5. If it does happen to fall off, you'll have a spare and it is much cheaper than the decals. BTW I lost one in 13 months, but that was because of my own stupidity....but I had a spare

Re: Center cap question

You can also take an SOS pad and gently srape all the flat silver paint off the area surrounding the lug holes. That part was chromed as well as the hub part, GM just decided to paint it over.

Re: Center cap question

Put some black lug nut covers on them . That will do a lot for them wheels. Get them from Dorman. Threaded lug nut on the out side with screw on lug nut covers.

I saw a set of these on a truck in Boise last week , they looked great . Owner said there take-offs he buys cheap at the local tire dealer . I also use a black decal with a gold chevy bow tie on my rally caps , buy them new from Chevrolet for $15 each , kinda spendy but they look o.k. I usually run 7 inch ralleys on the front , 8's on the back .
Thanks .

Re: Center cap question

www.summitracing.com has a section in their on-line catalog that shows pictures of different center caps. Seems that prices start as low as ~19 bucks and go up. The caps I want to use are about $23.50 each, in stainless steel.
