crossmember drop...help

Hey guys,

I finally got all the wireing done for my new welder so I started to tackle my crossmember drop this afternoon and everything was going great, my sawzall cut through the crossmember like butter. Only problem I am running into is cutting the inside line where the "L" shape A-arm mounts sit. I tried the sawzall at an angle; no luck, tried the cut off wheel; no luck. My next thought it to grab the torch and then grind it smooth. I really dont want to use the torch cause I only have my small one set up and I need to get new bottles for my large torch. So I was just curious what you guys did when you got to where I am stuck at. I know I cant be the only one to have problems.

Thanks
Keith

Re: crossmember drop...help

Thanks DM,

I will give that a try this morning and see how that works out. I started to think if that doesnt work out just taking the frame mounts off the crossmember and cutting them that way and then welding the mounts back on.
