Digital Air-ride gettin' there
Its coming together slowly but surely. most of the circuitry is done and most of the code for the Microcontroller is written. Spent the evening modifying the center console for the switches and controls. the Proto-board you see will be housed inside the console under plexi-glass. I will be able to control 4 different functions, or routines, with the remote. This is my final project for school and has been entirely built from scratch
When it is finished the Basic Stamp 2 microprocessor will monitor all four bags and maintain them at a user defined pressure (height) it will also perform four routines I have already programmed into it. It will monitor the doors as well as the ignition and neutral switches for safety reasons. I use the laptop as a mobile entertainment center (MP3 DVD) and it will also be used to program and reprogram the BS2. I will also be adding a Holley Pro-jection system and will be able to monitor and control it from the cab as well. This will be a little later on, once the weather gets a little better Just thought I would post it and get some responses from y'all |

Screamin -- Looks like Air Ride doesn't have a thing on you ! Great work !
Is this board something that you can tailor functions ie, add / delete, enable /disable? Is this something you may think about duplicating for board members ? You said it was a project. How much have you invested monetarily ? Keep up the good work. |

Mine is completely self contained and runs off its own Microcontroller. I set the pressure range I want in each bag and the BS2 measures and maintains that pressure range. I can over ride this by pressing a "routine" button on the remote or on the console. I have four routines I have written so far, but it is easy enough to program it to do just about anything. I was going at it from a useability stand point, not a "play only" type thing. I can hit button A on my remote and the rear will "Kneel" for easy trailer hook up. I can hit button B and "Pancake" the truck for show and easy cleaning. I hit button C and it will "Dump" the rear and "Sky" the front for oil changes and button D will drop tthe left front and raise the right rear tire off the ground for pi$$ing on fire hydrants. The trick is keeping it safe, and easily over-ridden if necessary. Mine is pretty much "plug and play" It monitors the doors and neutral switch, it will not run a routine unless the doors are closed and the truck is in Park. If I want to do something while moving, then I simply hit the override and use the four switches mounted in my center console I am NOT planning on selling these. The BS2 chip is $50.00 itself, and the rest of the components aren't cheap either. I basically just wanted to show it off so far Last edited by screamin_c102; 12-28-2005 at 03:11 PM. |
