FM radios in a '71
I got a '71 custom camper with no radio in the dash. I wanted to find an old original radio to fill up the hole in the dash and keep me company on my morning drive to work.
In '71, were am/fm radios an option, how about am/fm/cassette or was am radio all that was available in '71? Just curious!!!

think all our trucks had was a am/fm.... i have one but the am doesnt wrok..
they also had an am/fm 8track.... never saw one in person now i do have an am.fm/casset that was out of a mid 70s car i think. only prob is the casset doesnt work. but it will fit in our truck (i think) as long as you dont have a/c.

A/M-F/M radios were an option in our trucks, but not A/M-F/M cassettes. Someone on the board probly has one for sale, but the old origanals are getting expencive. A good rebuilt one goes usually for between $200.00 and $275.00... WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

AM/FM radios were available. But the am/fm 8 tracks were not. The 8-track that was available was an under dash unit that was separate from the radio.
