LOWERED 69 (Alignment Issues)
I just completed the Disc Brake conversion on my 69 Stepside. I didnt take into account how the lowering would affect my alignment. The truck is now Duck footed. Yes the tires are going two opposite directions. This is where I get to my question. To adjust the tie rod ends do I just loosen the sinch collar and turn it or do I have to take the tie rod end out of the spindle and adjust it then put it back in the spindle? I hope there is a person out there that can help me get this somewhat close so I dont catch my tires on fire on the way to the alignment shop. Thanks for any help you can give.
Thanks, JRB |

Yes-just start turning the tie rod adjuster thingy one way or the other until you get it close then drive carefully to the alignment shop and have them do it from there.

Re: LOWERED 69 (Alignment Issues)
Adjust both sides equally, keeping the steering wheel centered the whole time. Use a tape measure and a helper to measure front and rear till you get a tiny bit of toe in. If you're accurate, no need to pay a professional to do the alignment. If you're accurate...
