Van Tilt question

I spoted a van tilt in a salvage yard the other day and was wondering if anybody has used a column shift column in a truck that has a floor shift? Pictures would be awesome.

Other than removing the shifter handle, and indicator, (I know this will look corny, but floor shift tilts are expensive) is there much involved. Is it a fairly easy swap.

I am trying to research before I buy anything.

Yep it's a easy swap you do have to shorten the shaft and relocate the reverse light switch. You can also gring off the hump from the shifter and fill it the spray it what ever colour you like.

You mean remove the reverse light switch... he won't need it with a 4 speed.


You can break off the nubs for the inticator and shifter, fill in the holes and paint...and it'll look like the real deal.

as they said above--easily done--if you need to smooth whatever you shave off the collar, use an epoxy metal filler ---then regular body work techniques. Here is one link.
