Re: 67 SWB with must II front & 4 link rear.
sorry guys I've been extremely busy at work the past couple months and just getting some room to take a breath. cst70rocket, the rotors are actually 11" in diameter. They do look small next to the 20's,but with 4 wheel discs and dot 5 silicone brake fluid the truck stops great. I'll try to get some of those pics I planned on posting to you guys soon.

Re: 67 SWB with must II front & 4 link rear.
I used the smaller calipers found on the camaro, s-10 ect. I used the ones for a 4x4 s-10 front. Everything bolted up fine using coilovers. We fabbed our own crossmember, that is widened 3 or 4" from stock. All seems fine. No rubbing of the coils or caliper.

Re: 67 SWB with must II front & 4 link rear.
the calipers on the standard fatman setup don't rub. they must be the smaller ones. although I did have to grind a keyway into the caliper to reroute the line.

Re: 67 SWB with must II front & 4 link rear.
Hey turmoil,
I hate to sound stupid and hopefully it wasnt already addressed cause I skimmed through very quickly and did not see it. I was curious what the hell is going on with your steering column set-up? I see you have a joint and the top of the shaft, but then what is that copper piece going to the mc? Is it actually connected to the steering column? or is it just the angle it sits? At first I thought it was an air valve. Thanks Keith |

Re: 67 SWB with must II front & 4 link rear.
Thats a combination valve for the brakes. Its mounted on a bracket off the master cylinder. The angle of the shot makes it look like is mounted on the steering shaft.

Re: 67 SWB with must II front & 4 link rear.
yes im going to build my own front crossmember cant be that hard. the books if read talk about anti dive and bump steer and just by looking at the pictures of crossmembers for sale on the market they dont even really address these issues especially the anti dive. any way anybody got pictures of a fatman front end. thnks andrew

Re: 67 SWB with must II front & 4 link rear.
We finsihed building my M2 crossmemeber. When we did mine we did look at anti-dive ect. For the most part, if your front crossmember has adjustable mounting points on the arms.... like most do... you can tweek it to get all your parameters right.
just make sure your top arm has a 4 deg or so angle to it compared to the flat bottom one. My biggest concern is the weight.... i am going with a big block, and i am skeptical about the M2 spindle size. |
