single or double wall??

i just got a blazer and a jimmy and im wondering if they have single wall tops or double wall tops, never had a blazer or jimmy before so they are all new to me, may be a dumb question but how do i tell???

Assuming you are talking about a 1st gen, 69-72, the single wall
bolts down the side rails from the top, double wall bolts from the
underneath side of the rails, oh yea, and the single is worth 2 x
as much as the double, and it has interior cargo lamps, lighter 2.

looks like i got two single wall tops, one is white, the other black. which ones if any are harder to find, black or white? Thanks for the info, Dev.

Hmmmmmm, I wonder if it was ever painted, never seen a black single wall,
I think the option code is the same for all tops reguardless of color, I think

Got a black double wall on my 70 2wd. All the tops are white; they just spray them black as an option. A single wall would be nice though.

I HAD A 72 GMC JIMMY THAT HAD A BLACK TOP & SAID SO ON THE GLOVE BOX STICKER. THEY ARE A WHOLE LOT RARER (IS THAT EVEN A WORD??) OR MORE RARE THAN WHITE TOPS. JOHN

I agree they are a little more scarce than white ones, at least from the ones I have seen. Mine is also RPO listed. It is called a "black" top because it is painted black on the outside. The inside is white.

yeah wheelbase does say that, i have noticed other trucks with this a few times picking through the junkyard, a couple longbeds IIRC, never knew why though, Dev.

So,only the sigle-walls have any lights at all?No lights in the dbl?What are they going for?I took the top off one of mine to put a soft top on and it didappeared.

If the hatch is good, I have seen those go for more than the whole top and they are the same for double and single wall tops.

Teeitup just sold a very nice single with hatch for $600 if that helps,
you can search on the parts thread it should come up if not deleted.
