Re: speedo gears

I got my new gear at the dealership. I also need to replace my "O" ring. I have a butt load of O' rings just need to get under there and see which one I need. If I have more than one, I'll mail it to you for zip, zero...nada....

Re: speedo gears

I don't know what you have for implement dealers in Winston-Salem, but the Case IH guys here always have the best selection of o-rings and small belts. They even carry belts small enough to replace the drive belts in 8-track players.

Re: speedo gears

Go to a local transmission shop. 2 dealers and every chain parts store in town just looked at me funny, I found a mom & pop tranny shop and got a speedo bullet for my Th350 for $5.

Re: speedo gears

Ya'lls dealers are morons. My dealer guy has a bin full of them.

Replace the whole bullet like Krue suggested. There is an o-ring around the outside, AND also a lip seal on the inside that tends to leak. Plus, the gear and bullet both tend to wear, which will make even a new gear fit loosely inside the bullet. A new gear and bullet will make you a happy man.

Also, supporting your speedo cable with a small clamp to the framerail will take the weight off the seal and make it last longer.
