brush guard

I pulled this from a truck in a local yard. Does this look like a dealer brush guard?

It's not very often that these trucks show up in yards around here. I pulled everything that I needed and thought this guard would be kinda cool to have. Anyone know what these usually sell for?

Thanks!!

Re: brush guard

I have one just like it. i put it on ebay a few months ago. No one bid on it not even for $15.00. Maybe shipping would be to big of a hassle. Oh well, I will try it again someday.

lol.....nice try!!

I'm gunna use it. I'm going for the "old school" look and I think it'll fit in pretty good.....a few "spider webs" welded in ought to help with the look too.

I was just wondering on the price. I know the yard did me good.....the guard, bumper, one bracket and park light assembly.....$20

Re: brush guard

Nice Find...I'd certainly want to have one if I got a second truck.

Re: brush guard

I had one of those on my truck. I put it on the board here for $75, if I remember right. Nobody grabbed it. It put it on ebay, it sold for the opening bid of $75. It cost around $60 to ship.

Re: brush guard

I knew a cat in tx who had one on his 71 LWB C/10. I thought it was ugly, but he was going for the hot rod look...with a brush guard/

Like aroll bar on a 2wd?

I like those guaeds now more than before only becausethey`re another rarish GM accessory.I always wanted something tougher in a brush guard as well as afabbed bumper. But,they are a "choice" add-on for a factory 4wd.They`ve been in GM truck accy cats forever.the styles have changed, but the 67-72-type are the same deal as the 73-87.Only designed specifically to fit that model. That`s what`s on the CUCVs,alright.Right out of the GM accy cat. How`bout some o.d. ventshades and bedrails on a 1.25t?lol

THAT WAS MY FIRST THOUGHT ALSO. I WORKED AT G.M. IN THE EARLY TO MID 80s UP IN FLINT MI. AT THE TRUCK & BUS ASSEMBLY PLANT. THEY MADE BLAZERS, SUBURBANS, PICKUPS & THIER G.M.C. COUNTERPARTS. THEY HAD A LARGE GOVT. CONTRACT TO MAKE MILITARY BLAZERS & PICKUPS. THE BRUSH GARDS WERE NOT MADE AT G.M. . THEY WERE FARMED OUT TO A SMALL JOB SHOP. (I DON'T KNOW WHY) ..I WAS A SKILLED TRADE LAYOUT INSPECTOR FOR ABOUT 5 OR 6 YEARS, & GOT TO SEE (& MEASURE) ALL KINDS OF PARTS. A LITTLE TRIVIA FOR YOU GUYS.... G.M.C. & CHEVROLET TRUCKS ARE EXACTLY THE SAME EXCEPT FOR THE TRIM. SOME PEOPLE WILL SWEAR THEY'RE DIFFERENT, BUT BELIEVE ME, I'VE CHECKED EVERY PART ON THEM. JOHN
