brake booster

Has anybody ever done away with the power brake booster bracket & mounted the booster directly to the firewall ?
Can this be done?
It hangs way out in the engine bay on my 67,swapping from sbc to bbc later this year, vlv covers almost rub it,,,thought about shortening the brake pushrod arm?

Re: brake booster

yes, in various ways -- here are a few links --the last link is for a 79 booster --link is broke

To use the oem pedal rod hole the booster rod is 8.5" to the center of the rod hole from the firewall mount. Make adjustable if possible.

You will lose about an inch of pedal travel -- before same braking-- brakes the same otherwise.
