Re: Air Ride Acc...

you have too much tank and not enough compressor. you either need another compressor like the one you have or a smaller tank, like 3-5 gallon.

Re: Air Ride Acc...

yes.. your air compressor is killing itself trying to build up enough pressure with that big of a tank. Get a 3 or 5 gallon(ditch the 10). If you are a switch junkie get another viar 460 and run it also into the 10 gallon, to have enough play/fill ratio. Viar performance data

Re: Air Ride Acc...

I have roughly 8 gal. and I'm gonna run 2 viair380s.I'm new to this but I've been told by many that one compressor wasn't enough to preform well.

Re: Air Ride Acc...

I'm probably gonna have to run outside the frame.I'm gonna build the exhaust myself so I'll have plenty of opportunity to experiment.

Re: Air Ride Acc...

lvscott,I built the tanks out of 6" pipe.

sorry to hijack canadian trucker,I'm curious to know what you set your pressure switch at and how long it took for the 460 to fill that big tank.

Re: Air Ride Acc...

The rule of thumb is 1 compressor to every 5 gallons of tank. If you go any more your just going to kill the compressor.

Re: Air Ride Acc...

That's pretty much the industry standard and the same that I've always tried to go off of. If you're looking for a quick filling compressor, that compact and affordable, then I would go with the Viair 400C compressor. It's the quickest filling pump and also the most affordable. However if you're lloking for more then 150 psi, or plan to constantly be playing the with switches, then you'll want a different model.

Re: Air Ride Acc...

I've got 2 3 gallon tanks and 2 Thomas 315's. I've been using that setup for about 5 years. I don't do a lot of up and down over and over so the Thomas' are fine).

Re: Air Ride Acc...

I run an engine driven on 2 5 Gallons, I would never go electric.

I prolly have 300 bucks in the engine driven setup. I love it.
