Cheezie(like B.King commercial) thing you did to your truck

OKay, suck it up and lets admit the cheeziest add on you've done to your truck or perhaps car. Ie CB's, 8 tracks, a dozen antenna's, wood bumpers. his and her sunroofs, 235/15s on the front and 35" super swampers on the back of your 2wd(I know some of you think this stuff is still cool )
Mine was the infamous late 80's windshield wipers, you know the double sets and wind deflectors to keep them pressed to the windshield . At least it wasn't that god awful pink or lime green or fluorescent orange. Mine were red. They sold them at autozoo.

Re: Cheezie(like B.King commercial) thing you did to your truck

If I've done anything cheezy to my truck, I don't realize it yet. But I had a 68 Pontiac with jackd up rear end, keystone mags( just the back, front factory wheels and hubcaps) with fat tires. I painted the car midnight metallic blue, wich looked good, but it had that puke color green interior. The combo was....cheezy.

In high school I had one of those programmable horns installed on my truck. It made me feel just like the Duke Boys! At the same time I had a fuzzy lamb skin steering wheel cover. By the way, the fuzzy stuff wears off where your hands always rest and then the cover no longer looks cool.

How about curtains in the back window of my pickup. Had to take them down though they got in the way of my gun rack. LOL!

We put limberger cheese on a buddies headers at his wedding. He hoped out of that truck and tryed to catch the one that did it(I said we,but I was refering to the whole truck decorating commitee)to kick his butt.Truck door flung open, the Bride sittin`there waiting, and Jimmy (6'3") slippin`around in those shiney shoes and tux was a site to see.Too bad we didn`t have camcorders back then.

Not my truck, but my '63 beetle had 30 or so stickers covering the side windows and decklid.

I had an 86 toyota truck with a wooden flatbed on it (the metal bed was badly rusted and basically fell off)

Edit: I also spray painted the truck

You know the lights that were on the front of KITT, The car from the show Knight Rider....the red lights that went from side to side? I had those behind the grill of my first car........a powder blue Pinto.

Re: Cheezie(like B.King commercial) thing you did to your truck

I put a flame thrower kit on my first car. My mom's 85 pontiac station wagon with wood grain and wire hubcaps. It had a 350 in it, I put a intake and carb in it too. 5ft flame would shoot out the passenger side when I flipped the switch.

Re: Cheezie(like B.King commercial) thing you did to your truck

The best I could remember where the sidepipes I put on my 59 Apache. I didn't need a flame thrower kit, I just turned off the key and let it load up, turn on the key and BOOM a 4-5 foot flame shoots out the pipes. With glasspacks (esentially what sidepipes are) will not blow out like regular mufflers. Boy they looked cool, and I even thought of mounting them upright like the Lil' red express, but I sold it befor the mayhem could continue?!

I put the chrome covers that cover 1/2 of the headlights on my old 64 swb (but I still like those, I guess I'm cheesy...)

I have to say the rust free tail gate with the slow moving triangle and "Frequent Stops" Written under it has to be the worst thing I did to my truck

Re: Cheezie(like B.King commercial) thing you did to your truck

How about a 72 Caddilac Fleetwood Brougham 4 door with flip up sunroofs, fender skirts, curb feelers and wire wheel hubcaps. My GF at the time took one look at it and nicknamed it "The Pimp's Dream"

I gave $300.00 for it in 1980 and it had 68,000 miles on it.

I had my rear window of my ElCamino in high school covered in pi$$ing Calvin and big bowtie stickers. I finally removed those and installed a Dixie Horn.

I didn't do it but here are a few pics of a parts truck I got last summer.

Check out the digital tach on the dash the CB, ash tray ornament, and all the reflectors. The rug is pretty cool also. lol

Re: Cheezie(like B.King commercial) thing you did to your truck

Some of you guys will probably cuss at me or kill me? but oh well.

Put 31-10.5-15's in the front on 15x8 wagon wheels and jacked up the rear and put 33-12.5-16.5's out back on wide wagon wheels. I did have some 35-12.5-16.5 gumbomudders back there but they rubbed when I hauled stuff so they're in the shed till I can get some overload springs. I got the gumbomudders for nothing and they're almost new.

Installed a 1969 Johnson Messenger model 123B CB radio under the heater controls, and put an antenna mount on the headache rack with a black 2ft Wilson CB antenna

Installed factory round-style cab marker lights with the 71-87 lenses

Old dealer installed? gunrack still on the back window

Put one of the saddle blanket seat covers on the worn out bench seat

Installed an old Bull horn under the hood right above the voltage regulator. This isn't a PA "bull horn", this thing acutally makes a sound like a pissed off bull. It has one wire you hook up to the battery, and has a cable coming out that you mount under the dash. It looks like a choke cable, but when you pull it, the horn goes off and you adjust the sound with it.

Can't forget this thing, a 1950's? Federal Signal beacon-ray. I had it on top of my truck ONE time when I pulled a couple old trucks and a big trailer on the highway. It looked really stupid but it will blind the hell out of you at night and made a lot of people pull over. Now it's sitting on a shelf in my room, it looks cool there. (this pic was taken in the living room, probably two years ago)

I put LED "strobe" lights , the type the police have, behind my grill. Atleast you cant see them unless they're on and flashing.. dont ask why i installed them... damn left lane bandits

edit: seems like rusted as heck toyotas with wood flatbeds are the norm in Vermont!

Yeah, I had the programmable horn in my first car-a '67 Rambler Ambassador. I had the 'Dukes of Hazzard' thing going too, but it had a glitch and kept reverting to 'La Cucaracha'. Also, my uncle had a set of air horns mounted on the hood of his pickup. I have that truck now, but he removed the horns sometime before he sold it to me. Call me cheezy, but I kind of liked them

Re: Cheezie(like B.King commercial) thing you did to your truck

My first car was a 1960 Chevy. I put wide white walls on it for a while then I put air shocks on and jacked up the back. Put 2 slot type mag wheels on the back with big wide tires but kept the white walls in the front for a while until I could afford 2 more mags for it. Also had a CB with a magnetic antenna on the roof and a 8 track player under the dash. Wrecked it and got a 69 Cutlass 442 that had Keystone wheels in the back with N50-15 tires and stock steel wheels/tires in the front.

My first car was a '49 Willys Station Wagon. I just had to install one of those accelerator pedals shaped like a bare foot. Seemed like the thing to do at the time...
