Redneck OEM Dual exhaust
I like the sound of my 2006 OEM 4800 WT so instead of throwimg away a partial exhaust system to get duals --here is how I set my duals up for a factory look.
Parts are about 8" of 2.5" OD aluminized exhaust pipe, 1 -- 2.75" muffler clamps, and an empty can of Pepsi with a hose clamp--temporary. Mig welder and a 2.5" hole saw blade. I will let my favorite exhaust shop bend and connect and I hope he has a short piece of 2.75" oem pipe for the end. To split the flow the new outlet nipple is fishmouthed toward the engine and dips not quite halfway into the back. The nipple location is behind the axle. I also add a small hanger bracket on the frame for the muffler shop to use. This is my second as I did the same thing on my 2002 Z71. |

Re: Redneck OEM Dual exhaust
How does it sound? Did you add any kind of a performance muffler, like a flowmaster? If I'm looking that the picures at the top correctly, it was basically split in the rear before the spare tire? Looks good
