New cab ?
Im getting ready to restore my 72 cheyenne super and have a few questions. If I change the cab is there anything other then the plate on the driver door jam that has a number on it and if I do change it does it mess with the value of the truck. I should say its a 402 with air tilt tach power steering disc brakes posi tool box in bed side..

Re: New cab ?
Just the vin plate and the glove box door label. Unless you're making a points correct show truck, it shouldn't affect the value.
Before doing the swap, check with your state DMV or Highway Patrol. This usually involves some work on their part, and it's a lot easier if you have your ducks in a row beforehand. Around here it costs $500 in legal fees to fix it afterwards.

Re: New cab ?
By Federal law and quite a few states it is against the law to change VIN plates..........period. You can get a new one issued.
Rose bud rivets are sold once in awhile on the board. It gets done a lot, especially body shops doing a restoration........................... your call |
