Brand or part number for 2wd HD springs for lift?

Does anyone have a brand or p/n for the HD springs that will lift the front of a 2wd C-10 to lift the front end? Checkers carries Part No. FCS6454S, McQuay-Norris Front Coil Springs;Heavy Duty, $80 each. Are these the springs I need? Is McQuay Norris a good brand to get or should I try to find them from say Moog?

Also, I came across Rancho 1.5" lift springs, # RS6500. Has anybody used these? Summit sells for $157 for the pair. Are they any better then the HD springs? I would like the truck to be level, so 1.5" may not be enough compared to the 3" or so I hear the HD springs give.

Thanks!

Put factory replacement 3/4T springs in there. It should raise it up to be level.

Re: Brand or part number for 2wd HD springs for lift?

Moog 6454 was the part number for the HD spings I used to have on my truck. It sat level with them on the front. I looked at 2 brands and they both had that number, so I am pretty sure that those are the ones you want.

I was planing to lower it, and was unhappy to find out I had been sold HD spriings. This is what it looked like with them installed. The fronttires are 255/70/15.

Justin, they should level out pretty nice, that is what i have on mine. If it looks like its not level remember the front fender openings are cut higher than the rears, so it looks like the front is higher.. check out Slonakers pic.. the front fenders are closer to the body line...

I bought mine for a 3/4 ton front springs from Advance Auto Parts for $96. It ended up raising mine 3" along with the front end rebuild.

Thanks. I'd like to rebuilt the front end too but I doubt I'll be able to afford even the ball joints

Re: Brand or part number for 2wd HD springs for lift?

Well I had to order the springs and they'll call me when they come in. I'll post some before and after pics once I get them installed.

Don't forget to take measurements as well. This will show you how bad yours might have been like mine were.

Measure from the bottom lip of the fender in the center to the center of the dust cap on the rotor to get a good measurement.

Re: Brand or part number for 2wd HD springs for lift?

The results:
Before had 1 full tank & 1 empty
After had 1 empty & 1 almost empty tank
Tires were same pressure, Dueler 255/70R15 with new bilstein shocks.
Heights in inches using tape measure to nearest 1/16" inch.

Before // after // location
15.125 // 16.75 // ground to bottom of front bumper
30.9375 // 32.25 // ground to top center of front wheel well
18.0 // 19.25 // center of wheel to top center of front wheel well
32.8125 // 32.875 // ground to top center of rear wheel well
18.875 // 18.375 // ground to bottom of rear bumper

So I gained about 1.25".

Here's what it looks like at the control arms. Top is before, bottom is after.
