Re: 2wd to 4wd
You will need a steering gear off of a 4x4. You will also need the trans crossmember and a larger hump for your floor unless you are going to go with a body lift.

Re: 2wd to 4wd
You can use the 2wd steering box if you run crossover steering. Where are you located? I have some of the parts like a front axle, driveshafts,
t-case's,ect

I wanted an automatic transmission. I ended up using a th350 and np205 out of a 1972 Blazer. The crossmember and drive shafts are the same. GM made up the differences between tranny/xfer combo lengths by varying the length of the adapter between the two pieces. What I have observed is that if you have a NP205 now, you can use any NP205 and its transmission in place of what you got. This crossmember has NOTHING to do with the 2wd crossmember. I'm not sure because I've never owned a 2wd, but I believe the 2wd frame is different than the 4wd. If the frames are not different the Blazer's crossmember should work. Maybe somebody else who has done this will chime in.
