72 doors have a phillips head screw right under the wing vent, the only year this truck had that.I thought they all had plastic door panels as well,I could be wrong though.

I have a Chevy 71 with 72 doors, actually I think it is a 72 with the VIN changed to a 71 VIN.
Here's a pic of a 72 door and door panel.

Re: Any 72's Come With 71 style door panels?

There should be some pics on here somewhere with a 67-71 door next to a 72 door, not sure where though. Maybe the doors have just been replaced before 34 years is a long time to go on original doors, maybe they had to be replaced. Anyway the 72 doors should have longer shafts for the window crank and door handle whereas the 71 down doors should have shorter shafts. If you can post a pic of your door someone can tell you for sure what year it is.

Re: Any 72's Come With 71 style door panels?

I Prefer The Metal 67-71 Door Panels As Compared To The 72 Style, & I Have Converted Several 72 Doors To Pre 72 Style. The Regulators Can Easily Be Changed Out For The Shorter Shaft Models, & I Have Left The Longer Ones In Place, Without Them Being Obviously The Wrong Ones (the Longer Shafts Were Not Noticable) . Instead Of Being Attached With Plastic Rivits, I Put Nutcerts In The Four Holes On The Bottom . John
