Question What did you do to or with your truck this weekend 04/08-09/2006?

Heyas,

so what did you do to or with your truck, suburban, panel or carryall?

-W

------

On Sunday on my '65 c10, I...

1) adjusted the tension on the park brake cable again... I think it is where I need it now.

2) pulled out the modulator on the th350(3 speed auto tranny), as I was suspecting it was leaking tranny fluid from that area. I checked it out, checked the seal(it was fine), cleaned up the area and reinstalled it nice and snug.

3) cleaned the inside and outside of the windows and windshield with windex.

4) adjusted the stoplight switch(the thing that makes yer brakes lights go on and off) again... I think I will have to get a new one as the plastic threads are messed up on one part. It looks like NAPA actually still carries the part. Yay.

5) installed some little round stick on mirrors to my big honkin' side mirrors so I can see in my blind spots. These round stick on jobs can even be adjusted after they are stuck on! They *wiggle* around in place... I found them at Autozone. Very neat and the work well also.

6) snugged up the hose clamps on the various coolant hoses under the hood.

I finally saved up enough money to put five gallons of gas in it and put it in.

Installed a headliner and trim ring kit in my work truck. Stood in the garage and looked at my project truck. One day I thought and then I came in and watched the race.

I finished welding up the trans hump, pressure washed frame firewall etc now that the front cap is off. Stuck auto crossmember into the frame & cut off the old manual crossmember remnants. removed what was left of a side window. brian

Cleaned up the bellhousing and tranny case, rebuild parts came late Fri. Installed flywheel and pilot bearing and killed a bunch of wasps trying to make it their new home.

Tore the donor chassis apart.
Tore the Suburban front end apart.
Converted the Burban to front discs using donor truck stuff. Also installed dropped spindles and cut springs too.
Converted to power steering at the same time.
Installed engine and transmission.
Sandblasted and painted the front wheels, and installed new tires on them.

Last thing was stripping the donor truck 75 model axle down to convert it to coil springs for the Suburban.

Re: What did you do to or with your truck this weekend?

Received my VDO Gauges, finished buffing the bezels and prepping for the install. Recieved my 5" drop springs and super track bar kit from ECE, still waiting on the 2 1/2" drop spindles and 2" drop springs and toxic shocks for the front. hopefully this weekend I will be installing all these goodies.

Here is a pic of the Gauge Cluster:

Re: What did you do to or with your truck this weekend?

Not this last weekend, but last week on vacation I stripped the parts truck to the frame. Using that frame for the project truck so had to strip her down and get it prepped for clean up and paint.
