Chevy truck infomercials from the 80's

Hi,

A few years ago i paid for and received a DVD that contained dealer video footage of '81 chevy trucks. It was excellent and i have since viewed it countless times. At the time there were indications of -85-86 commercials being available to those who contribute. I'm just wondering who to contact and whether or not the videos are available or not. I believe Jeff Dodge organized and sent out the previous DVDs. If there's a topic concerning these "ads" i'd like to know. Also, i'd be willing to pay for a new DVD if that's possible.

Please contact me at rockhq@hotmail.com as i very rarely read this forum nowadays.

Thanks,
-Axle

Re: Chevy truck infomercials from the 80's

Axle, it was me that had these. A co-worker of mine has been helping me convert these...but they are being a PITA to convert to DVD format...mainly due to all the interactive functionality of the laserdisc.

My co-worker is trying to translate these perfectly, but IMO being overly anal about that. He did just finish converting the 84, and I watched it. His converted DVD is of similar quality to the '81...so I told him that would be fine and lets go with it. Converting the '85 should be simple since it is formatted just like the '84. One other thing, the 84 and 85 laserdisc contain TWICE as much info as the 81...because it covers the vans, El Caminos, S10's, etc.

SO...stay tuned, I still have your address, and will ship these out as soon as I get them all created.

I will be taking care of the people who originally participated first (gotta be fair), then will come back and offer them to others if there is still interest.

Shane, these will play on a regular DVD player, or on your PC if it is equipped with one.
