Re: teraflex

how is the rear currently lifted? Just lift springs? How much lift do you have? A shackle flip would provide 4" of lift and give you better flex than lifted springs. If you have 6" of lift, a shackle flip and 2" springs would work better with same lift. Just an alternative idea. Shackle flips are far more common on these trucks than tera flex shackles.

Re: teraflex

Yes they make shackle flip kits. Off Road design makes them and so does Sky.

OR-

You can convert your existing rear spring hangers by removing the shackle, cutting open a hole and reinstalling the shackle through the hole. (brace up the hanger though) Another cheap option is to get the front spring hanger from the rear spring of a 3/4 ton 73-87 truck and install it in place of the stock rear hanger. (requires drilling out of stock rivets on both hangers)

Teraflex revolver shackles were not originally setup for our trucks. They were designed for Jeeps. Some say the revolver shackles give spooky handling on/off road when the shackles unload when you don't want them too. Do some searching on other sites like www.CK5.com where this question comes up every month or so and you will see a lot of detail on them.

Personally, a flipped shackle on our trucks does a better job without the spookyness. I've had mine flipped for over a year now and driven on and off road without any problems. Off road it rides soft and flexes soooo much better. Go with a shackle flip.

Re: teraflex

I have the taraflex revolver shackels on my jeep and it made it way to hard to drive on the road. they are very unstable for street driving. Another problem is when you are offroad they will let you get so twisted up that you can break allot of different things. I will be pulling them off my jeep soon and trashing them

Re: teraflex

Tonka, yes that is the idea.. Blocks=BAD! shackle flip wont cause quite as much axle wrap...
