sbc 400 alternator bracket qustion?

I'm putting a 400 small block in my 71 4X4. I changed the cab to a air cab so I need to change the alternator to the drivers side, The 400 also uses a long water pump. My question is what driver side alternator brackets would I use on this application. I found a set but the guy was not sure if they would work on a long water pump. Thanks Rick

As Tex said, I don't think there is one. Hope someone can prove me wrong for your sake.

Can you use the short water pump on the 400? I don't know what other brackets you already have or not. The a/c on the pass side stock on the 67-72. In 73 when they went to long waterpump on trucks the a/c went to drivers side.

What is the result you want to achieve? Stock look? 400 stock look?

Put out what want and the board can probably come up with an answer.

I think you would be better off switching everything over to the long pump style setup. Id think you could just have a set of longer ac hoses made so you could mount that on the drivers side instead of the alternator...

Thanks guys, I have the new compressor and bracket from vintage air to fit on the right side plus the water pump and all the pulleys. I'm not much into getting the right look but rather something that will work good.

Thanks cornfed63 I saw those mounts. I saw these brackets on ebay and was thinking of using shims to bring the bracket out abit to compensate the half inche difference from the short water pump to the long one.
